Part A

Hospital Insurance - Part A covered services : Inpatient care in a hospital, Inpatient care in a skilled nursing facility (not custodial or long-term care), Hospice care, home health care, inpatient care in a religious non-medical health care institution.

Copayment , Coinsurance, or deductible may apply for each service.

Part A maybe Premium-free if you or your spouse paid Medicare taxes while working for a certain amount of time. If you are not eligible for Premium-free Part A, you maybe able to buy it.

Part B

Medical Insurance: cover medically necessary doctor’s services, outpatient care, home health care, durable medical equipment, mental health, services, many preventive services and other medical services. Medicare may cover some services and test more often then the timeframe if needed to diagnose or treat a condition.

Most will pay Part B premium every month, even if enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan that provides Part A and Part B coverage.

If you have Medicare Advantage plans or other health insurance (Medigap, Medicaid, or employer or union coverage), copayments, coinsurance, or deductible may be different.

Part C

Medicare Advantage plans (MA plans) is another wat to get your Medicare Part A and Part B coverage but a Medicare approved private company that must follow rules set by Medicare. Most Medicare Advantage plans include drug coverage (MAPD plans). To join, you must have Part A and Part B, Live in the plans service area and be a U.S. citizen or lawfully present in the U.S. . You can join Medicare Advantage plan even if you have a pre-existing condition. These plans set limits on what you’ll pay out-of-pocket each year for services and will need to use the health care providers that are within the plan’s network. Plans may offer some extra benefits for things that Medicare doesn’t cover, like fitness programs and more. It’s important to review the “Annual Notice of Change” and “Evidence of Coverage” from your Medicare Advantage plan each year. Each year you will have the option to keep your current plan or choose a different plan or switch to Original Medicare.

Part D

Medicare drug coverage for prescriptions drugs you need. Must join a Medicare-approved plan that offers drug coverage, sometimes can be add on coverage or standalone. Each plan can very in cost and specific drugs covered. If you delay Part D without creditable prescription coverage or extra help, you will likely pay a late penalty if you join later and will pay that penalty for as long as you have Medicare drug coverage.

Supplement Insurance (Medigap)

Policies that are sold by private companies to help pain for remaining health care costs for covered services and supplies , like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. The plans are standardized plans that must follow federal and state laws designed to protect you. My must have Part A and Part B before you can buy Medicare Supplement Insurance. You will pay the private insurance a monthly premium in addition to Part B monthly premium.

During your Medigap Open Enrollment Peroid, first 6 months you have Medicare Part B and you’re 65 or older, is the best time to buy a Medigap policy. After open enrollment period, you may not be able to buy Medigap or it may cost more.

Dental and Vision

Some Medicare Advantage and Medicare Cost plans may coverage for dental and vision services. Original Medicare (Part A or Part B) does not cover most dental care, dentures and eye exams (for prescription glasses).
